The movie’s director, John Dahl thought it would be interesting film the playoff between Chan and Seidel. The final hand brought a measure of movie fame to Erik and Johnny Chan as it was included in the film – much to Seidel’s embarrassment, he lost, (pair of queens to a straight).

A player with a very high level of fitness can use this to their advantage if they do not have the best technique. They can push their fitness to the highest level and play percentage tennis, just trying to return as much as they can hoping their opponent will tire.

This will not enable them to become the best in the world but a player with limited technique CAN climb the rankings by having their fitness and stamina at the highest levels.

Players with a high level of stamina can also recover quicker than other players and this helps when playing late in a round draw.

Your opponent in the next round may have had an extra days rest due to the nature of the draw and many players can struggle against someone who has had an extra days rest.

By being at the very highest level of fitness you can achieve this will have less of an impact when having less rest than your opponent.

Not like anyone is amazed by the results. After all, the 36-year-old Agassi, who had tears in his eyes when he addressed the crowd after the match, has a bad back and to top it all he had to face 16 years younger Nadal, a great tennis player ranked 2nd; Williams hasn’t played much this year because of injuries; and Roddick is going through his worst season in quite some time, failing to reach a single final.
